Net Zero Cup is a long term and reusable alternative to single-use paper cups. But what differentiates Net Zero Cup from other cups is it’s c.99% plant based and sustainable raw material.
Our biobased material is created with post food production, leftover sugar cane juice and green energy in Germany! Being plant based each cup holds approximately 350 grams of carbon dioxide that the plant naturally absorbed from the air during its’ growth process! The cradle to gate of our material is also carbon negative which is amazing!
Net Zero Cup with it’s plant based raw material, reusability feature and by planting a tree with each cup, not only helps reduce waste but also helps to reduce our carbon footprint.
At the end of their useful life, the cups can be converted to energy, releasing only the amount of CO2 that the plants had initially absorbed. Due to this reason Bioplastics are considered climate neutral materials.
Furthermore, with each cup we will plant a tree, fully offsetting any CO2 related to the production of the cup.
According to the European Standard EN 13432, in order to claim to be biodegradable, 90% of a plastic product must disintegrate after six months.
As our aim is to produce only once and reuse Net Zero Cups for many years, we have chosen a non-biodegradable biobased material on purpose. We wanted a sustainable but also durable material.
But there is more good news – due to our material’s thermoplastic properties, we can reuse the cups and materials at the end of their lives to create new Net Zero Cups or other products! How cool is that!
Yes! Our cups have been tested by independent laboratories in Germany and Türkiye in accordance with the relevant requirements laid down in Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011, Article ,311(5), 51 and 71 of Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004, $§ 03 and 13 LFGB and BedGgstV and as amended.
No! Our material and Net Zero Cups do not contain melamine resin, BPA and formaldehyde.
Yes, they are! You can drink both hot as well as cold drinks with our cups.
Whilst they are not a thermos, Net Zero Cups keep drinks warm for c.30 – 40 minutes.
